Firmware Update for AR-384X
Latest Version: 1.14
Release Date: 03-12-2026
- New: Option to disable greeting message when device is powered on
Instructions
Plug the Audio Visualizer into your computer using USB and turn it on.
Make sure you are using a USB data cable, not a charge-only cable, as charge-only cables will not allow communication with the device. You may see the LEDs flicker — this is normal and caused by electronic noise from the computer.Click the Install Update button above, select “USB JTAG/serial debug unit (COMx)” from the list, and follow the on-screen instruction.
When finished, unplug the device from your computer and connect it to its regular AC power adapter.
- Open the Menu on the device (By pushing the left knob), and confirm the firmware version by turning the knob 1 time to the left (CCW). It should display version 1.14.

• Normal (default) – Tuned for typical speakers, prioritizing the most commonly emitted frequencies.
• Large – Takes more mid-to-high frequencies into account for a more centered visual.
• XL – Takes the full frequency range into account, matching the behavior from previous versions.
